Fancy Mr. Noodles with Perfect Garlic Bread
So if you're a student or if you're just having money troubles, you can take cheap food and make it fancier!
I made this for lunch but you could make a few packages of Mr. Noodles and have it for a light dinner.
Prepare the noodles as you would according to the directions on the package.
While the noodles are boiling, add a little bit of garlic salt, thyme, and basil.
Don't add too much, or it will be too strong. Less than a teaspoon of each is good.
Take one large garlic clove and squash it so that it opens but wont fall apart. Add it to the water and boil it with the noodles.
Once the noodles are done, take some tongs and place it in a bowl. Pour a small amount of juice in the bowl as well.
Add salt and pepper to taste. You can actually add some cheese (Parmesan probably) to add to the taste.
I absolutely love garlic bread, and it can bring a fancy twist to a pretty boring meal. I have been playing with garlic bread for a while to find the best way to prepare it, and I think I finally found it.
Take a large whole wheat crunchy bun and cut it horizontally into three pieces. If you are cooking for a few people or don't have this kind of bun, don't worry. Hot dog and hamburger buns work, they just don't get as crunchy (it's actually better if they're slightly stale) or you can buy some French bread and cut it up.
Take a tablespoon and a half of garlic (for one bun) and put it in a small microwaveable bowl. Chop up a medium sized clove of garlic and put or in the bowl with the butter or margarine. Microwave it for one minute.
This is the same idea as making garlic infused olive oil.
Once the butter is melted, take a deep spoon and cover each piece of bread with the butter mixture. Just cover it; you don't want to saturate the bread.
Sprinkle a generous amount of garlic salt on the bread, again covering each piece.
You can add some Parmesan cheese or other type of cheese as well.
Cook the bread in the oven on broil until it is crunchy and browned.
