Bacon pasta stirfry with garlic bread
This meal, like so many, was a quick throw-together-because-no-one-took-anything-out-of-the-freezer kind of meal. I had some pasta, but not enough to have just pasta, some bacon and some veggies. Threw it together. Wasn't bad.
This amount feeds 4-6 people
To make the pasta you need:
1/4 pack of spaghetti or angel hair pasta, cooked al dente
1 large white onion, chopped finely
4 garlic cloves chopped finely
2-4 bell peppers of any colour (I had one green and one yellow, but more would have been nice) cut into small pieces
1/4-1/2 cup of cooking oil
2 teaspoons of garlic salt
2 teaspoons of Thai seasoning
1 teaspoon of Greek seasoning
3-6 tablespoons of soy sauce or any type of sauce you like in a stir fry
1 package of bacon
1 small package of beef cubes
Start by cooking the bacon and beef cubes in a frying pan. Once done, rove from frying and leave on fridge to cool.
While doing the next steps, put the pasta on to cook.
Add half of the vegetable oil to a large skillet and add garlic, onions, peppers, any other vegetables you like, and spices. Sauté until softened.
Cut the meat into bite sized or smaller pieces and add to the skillet.
Drain and rinse pasta and add to the skillet with the soy sauce. Cook on medium-low for 5-10 minutes or until all of the flavours have been integrated.
Make sure to stir often to avoid burning the pasta. You may need to add more oil.
For the garlic bread you need:
However many buns/slices of bread/ naans as you have people eating
1-2 tablespoons of garlic salt
1/8-1/4 cup of olive oil
4-6 garlic cloves
Chop the garlic finely and put in a dish with the oil. Microwave for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.
Spoon the olive oil and garlic mixture onto your bread, making sure not to saturate it too much.
Sprinkle each piece with a generous amount of garlic salt.
Broil on high until bread is golden brown and crispy.
My pasta came out a little bland so you may want to add some more spices.
