Easy peasy Mac and cheesy!

I got this recipe at work and while the original is very boring, it's easy to make better. This is an easy recipe you can prepare ahead of time as well. Cook 3 cups of macaroni noodles until al dente. While the noodles are cooking, shred about 2 cups of cheddar or mozzarella cheese. Take one cup of milk and mix it with one egg. This is where we make it interesting. Add a teaspoon each of onion powder or flakes, garlic salt, pepper, and seasoning salt. Mix it thoroughly. Layer noodles and shredded cheese, ending with noodles. Pour the milk mixture over the cheese and noodles. Sprinkle cheese and some bread crumbs on top and bake at 375 for 35 minutes or until golden brown.

Melt in your mouth chocolate chip cookies

Around the holidays, someone at my work made cookies and they were absolutely fantastic. The only problem is that I don't know who made them or what recipe try used. This is the first of the chocolate chip cookie recipes that are at work. I plan to try them all until I find the right one. The ingredients you need are: 2 and 1/4 cups of flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 cup softened butter or margarine 3/4 cup of sugar 3/4 cup of brown sugar (firmly packed) 1 tsp vanilla 2 eggs 2 cups chocolate chips Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl mix together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. As vanilla. Beat in eggs one at a time. Blend the two mixtures together and add in chocolate chips. Drop teaspoon sized rounds on to the baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes.

Chocolate chip marshmallow cookies

I am writing down the recipe right now as I am stealing it from someone and will most likely make the cookies one day this week. They are amazing and I don't even like marshmallow. 1 cup margarine 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup white sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp of vanilla 3 cups of flour 2/3 cup cocoa 1 tsp baking powder 1 cup chocolate chips 1 cup marshmallows This is all it says. I am going to assume that you are to melt the marshmallows and then mix all of the ingredients. I found a recipe online that is pretty much the same. You do not melt the marshmallows. http://www.food.com/recipe/chocolate-chip-marshmallow-cookies-352781

Crispy chicken breast with twice baked potatoes and sweet carrots

Image
This was a delicious meal that is fairly simple to make. The potatoes take some time but are not difficult at all to make. For the chicken you need: 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts 1 cup of mayonnaise or miracle whip 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese 1 teaspoon of basil 1 teaspoon of garlic salt Mix all of the ingredients together (minus the chicken) in a bowl until everything is combined. Coat the chicken in the mixture (don't make it too thick) and bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 375 degrees. If the chicken doesn't crisp up, just put the oven on broil for a few minutes. For the potatoes you need: 4-5 large white potatoes 3/4 of a large tub of sour cream I small brick of mozzarella cheese, shredded 1/2 large white onion, chopped finely 3 medium garlic cloves, chopped finely 1/2 teaspoon of chili flakes 1 tablespoon of garlic salt Start by peeling and boiling the potatoes until they are cooked thoroughly. Put the potatoes in a baking dish and mash them ...

Carrot curl salad

Image
So I saw this recipe on Chatelaine and changed it a little. Here is the link if you want to see the original: http://food.chatelaine.com/Recipes/View/Carrot-curls-with-pine-nuts This is a great holiday dish that is different from the traditional boiled carrots. Starts by peeling 2-4 large-medium sized carrots and rinsing them off. In order to get the carrots curly you have to basically just keep peeling. Do it in long strokes as it make it look prettier and will be easier to eat. To make the sauce, take about 1/2 cup of Italian dressing and a few tablespoons of honey (to taste) and whisk them together. Add in some basil and onion flakes (or real onion, if you like that), and then about a half of a teaspoon to a full teaspoon of ginger spice Put your carrots in the serving dish an sprinkle some onion or onion flakes on top. Add some cranberries and walnuts and then drizzle your sauce on top if it. You can even add some brown sugar to the sauce if you find it is too tart. ...

Deep fried pickles with wet batter

Sorry guys but no pictures on this one. This is better if you have a deep fryer: otherwise, you might want to use the other method I have on the blog here. I found that sometimes with the egg and bread crumbs that it didn't stick as well, so I decided to try a wet batter. If you want to try it the other way, you just put egg in one dish and whisk it, and Italian bread crumbs in the other. Coat the pickles in the egg and then the bread crumbs and then fry. The problem with this wet batter is that it doesn't stay all in one piece. I also found that you have to leave them on longer. I under fried them a little and the batter came out a bit chewy. To make the batter, crack one egg into a large bowl. Add some flour until its kind of lumpy and then add a little water until to have a consistency that is reasonable. You don't want it too watery or it won't stay on the pickles. Don't add salt; the pickles are salty enough. A good idea is to add Italian bread crum...

Seared steak with garlic sauce

Image
I made this the other day because I was watching the Food Network and they were talking about searing meat so I thought it would be a good idea. Keep in mind that if you like your steak cooked more than medium rare and your steak is fairly cooked, you will have to throw it in the oven for a whole after searing. It still works as a great tool for keeping the juices in though. As you may have seen I have made garlic cream sauce for chicken before and even used a (slightly altered) version for pasta sauce. Well, I thought it might also be nice with some mushrooms and onions on top of a seared steak. Make the cream sauce as your normally would, except when you are cooking the garlic at the beginning, also cook your mushrooms and onions. I forgot my mushrooms and so cooked them separately and added them after. To sear the steak, season one side with some steak spice, garlic salt, and tex mex seasoning. Next, get a pan large enough to put your steak in and put enough oil in to cove...
